Sneak Peek

The next books I'll be recommending in my Colorado Springs Gazette columns are SEINLANGUAGE by Jerry Seinfeld and A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN by Betty Smith. Very different books, both fabuliscious. I hope you all are enjoying some great summer reading, and if you find any literary treasures, please let me know here.

Oldest daughter has finally worn me down; I'll be reading TWILIGHT next. If I like it, I'll post about it. If I don't, there will be a telling silence regarding the subject.

SIDE NOTE: The family is considering moving to Paris. The "package" my husband's company is giving him is horrible. Basically, $10,000 to move in somewhere and an extra $2,700/month (always in $, so if the $ tanks, we're in trouble). Anybody with experience in Paris, please share.

Rock on! Read on!

I understand your pain. I am also going to pick up Twilight, mostly because although I thought the movie was "just okay", I can see some possibilities that the book could be entertaining. There are also too many questions I have that I've been told the book answers. I hope you put your thoughts on it though, regardless of whether you like it or not :)

I love Jerry Seinfeld, I imagine Seinlanguage is a giggle. I just finished reading the Twilight series. I think you just gotta see what the hype is all about. They were entertaining. I enjoyed book three the best.
And Sacre bleu! A move to Paris?! Big decision time!

Paris? I hope this is well with your family, sounds like an adventure should you choose to go.

Twilight is a fun read, take it as no more than that.

Wow. It's Paris!!! That would be an experience.

Twilight is worth reading totally, for a variety of reasons. It is what it is, but there is definitely some good stuff going on with it or it wouldn't be so popular. You may want to stop with it though. I've read the first three but have no real compelling reason to read number 4.

I'll let you all know about Paris...decision must be made by 6-15...we are all furiously working away at Rosetta Stone. :)

Am looking forward to TWILIGHT...was starting tonight but got a request for full from an editor (yay!). Wait is expected to be about a month, now that I've sent in full. Will write while waiting.

Hey, move to Paris. Talk about the chance of a lifetime! I know Davin lived there for 6 months or so. You may want to email him. If you're interested, I have his email address.

My mom LOVES the Tree Grows In Brooklyn book. It's on my list to read. And I'm a huge Seinfeld fan. Can't wait for your review!

I have seen a direct correlation between Twilight and Jane Austen. If you enjoy Jane Austen, you will most likely enjoy the Twilight books. I'm pretty sure this is mainly because of all the angst, and if you can take it in Jane Austen, Twilight should be a breeze. ;-)

(I for one do enjoy Jane to a point, but I have to take a break after I finish one of her novels to "de-angst" myself. Same exact thing happened in Twilight.) Happy reading!
