Great procrastination opportunities (like you need any)

So, when I need a five minute break from my book writing, I like to visit your blogs. You are FUNNY, TALENTED people...would love to have a giant party and talk, talk, talk to all of you. BIG PLAIN V currently has a guitar playing/singing bathroom video up on his blog.

I also like to visit agent blogs during breaks, and dream about the ones I'll query when the manuscript is DONE. First round of queries will include UPSTART CROW, and a couple other agencies.

Besides visiting blogs, I mostly eat on breaks. What do you do?!

Twitter. It's worse than heroin.

Blogging and eating are two of my big ones. Hmm, a bit of cursory housework, or if I'm still in my robe I might opt for a shower lol

Thanks for the links. Now I can add sitting in the can with my guitar to my procrastination inclinations :) I'm actually thinking--great acoustics.

I only get 1-2 hour blocks of writing time as it is so during that time I might break for a cookie or chocolate milk but that's it.
I do read blogs/check email/check Facebook regularly on my breaks from my regular daily routine though. Oh, snack too. :)

Blogging, Facebook, email, little bit of Twitter. I'm very good at finding procrastination tools. :)

blog and email takes up most of my time. well, all of it somedays (just to be honest).

I wanted to let you know about my blog address change. *sigh* If you're following me, my posts now won't show up in your feed, dashboard, sidebar, whatever. So please forgive me, but you'll have to change the address for my main writing blog, Where Romance Meets Therapy, to http://jeanniecampbell.blogspot.com. To do this, you have to "unfollow" me and follow me again. Sorry for the confusion!

I am an expert procrastinator. On really bad writing days I'll even (gasp) stoop to doing housework in a (supposedly valid) effort at putting off the dreaded moment of actually writing. Usually, though, my favourite procrastiation methods are blog visits, facebook, playing with the cat and phoning my mom!

DEBRA: One of several reasons I don't Twitter: can't afford another time-sucking addiction.

STRANGE FICTION: Forget housework! As long as you've got clean clothes, who cares? My bathroom has horrible acoustics...I've lived in several places and this is the first one in which the bathroom does not make my voice sound better than it actually is...perhaps I should move?!

KELLY: Oh, great. Now I need a cookie and chocolate milk.

ABBY: I am also fabulous at finding ways to procrastinate. I wish I could get paid for this talent.

JEANNIE: I'll unfollow and then follow you later today. Thanks for the heads-up.

ANN: I can't believe you procrastinate! And with housework! The cat I can understand, but dusting and wiping...you must stop cleaning!

Blogs, for sure. But I also catch up on the news and play the occasional video game. And sometimes I eat a donut.

Blog. Email. Read Yahoo news. Check the Verla Kay message boards. Walk around the house and see what the cat is up to. Wander around the backyard and see what the spiders are up to. I just ate a carrot. Ate a bowl of cereal earlier with a banana. I'm still hungry. I'm going to check out a few more blogs then eat again. Thank you for asking!

Facebooking :) Wordplaying too:)

PMM: Wow...I never think of the news. Too depressing. Maybe I should try it, though. Our local paper has a good Web Site.

MG: A carrot?! No wonder you're still hungry. And I'd never heard of Verla Kay until today...I love the cake she made. Made me nothing but hungrier.

babYpose: I can't Facebook, because it would completely distract me from writing. Husband sometimes fills me in on friends (his desk is right behind mine) and even that can be distracting. What is Wordplaying???

I multi-task at my couch - computer, tv, book, food, parenting. You must understand, my core function is chauffeuring.

Anita said...

OCEAN GIRL: I hear you on the chauffering thing...had a 7 AM drive this morning!
It's difficult multi-tasking writing...requires more concentration than other things...can still eat and write, though (of course)!
